is a leading center for research and education in tsunamis and other coastal hazards. The Tsunami
Wave Basin, part of the National Science Foundation's
Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation program, is
the world's largest facility for studying the effects of tsunami and large
storm waves on coastal environments. Its unique, state-of-the-art
technology allows sharing of the research experience over the internet
with remote collaborators, other researchers, and students. Experiments
can be viewed in real time, and the archived data are accessible to
researchers worldwide.
