The Coastal Imaging Lab (CIL) in the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences at OSU has developed a suite of optical measurement approaches, called The Argus Program, designed to exploit visible signatures of nearshore phenomena.

This camera is part of that project and is located at Yaquina Head, about 4 miles North of Yaquina bay in Newport, Oregon. Yaquina Head is easily identifiable by the large white lighthouse on its seaward flank.
